Opening The Seed library

“Recently, we welcomed Ansar to speak on the decolonization of our seeds from the perspective of communities spanning Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. This marked the official opening of the Wageningen Seed Library at NuDeToekomst. 

Ansar shared on the stories of activists and farmers across Westasia who are working towards building systems of food sovereignty and community connection through saving and growing seeds across this diaspora - acts of resistance and care. We gathered to share stories, share food, make art and admire the seeds that Ansar had brought over from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. These seeds now live in the seed library and we hope that together, these can be grown and saved with care

The Wageningen Seed Library is one way in which we can continue this work here, in Wageningen through exchanging, borrowing, growing and saving seeds with our friends, neighbors, strangers and importantly, with the land. 

It I s open during all NuDeToekomst opening hours. Please feel free to drop by to exchange seed whenever you feel called. There is no need to donate to take seeds - these seeds are meant to be sown in the land, to learn with the land and to be saved for the future.
